Empowering females in business is essential to achieving gender equality in the corporate world. Women make up half of the population, and their contributions to business are significant. However, women often face challenges such as gender bias, discrimination, and stereotyping that prevent them from advancing in their careers.
To empower females in business, The Annex Accessories implements policies and practices that promote diversity and inclusion. This includes hiring and promoting women in leadership positions, offering flexible work arrangements, and providing training and development opportunities.

We have taken the time to speak to our Wholesale Manager, Siobhan and Marketing Manager, Helen, to understand what makes them driven in business and why they love working with The Annex Accessories.
Siobhan says, ‘Having a variety of different jobs that included being a travel consultant, an insurance clerk and later on childcare provider, I joined The Annex Accessories. Having moved from Northern Ireland to a completely new location due to my partners work commitments, I was a bit lost. I had a number of part time jobs that worked around my three children but I was ready for more. Working at The Annex Accessories has given me everything that I could have wished for. I have a great job that I love and a job that allows me to be a present mum. Having 9 children between us means that we are always there for not only us but our families too. Work meetings and family life are entwined and we all celebrate each others children’s achievements. I have also achieved my own personal goals within the workplace and continue to do so with the support of The Annex Accessories family. can not wait to continue the journey…’
Helen says, ‘Before joining The Annex Accessories team, I was a full time stay at home mum, until my daughter started school. Before her birth, I enjoyed a management retail background which spanned 19 years. Conversing with customers motivated me daily and gave me a real buzz. Since joining The Annex Accessories, I have a new lease of life and feel so proud to be apart of their team, it gives me a purpose that sometimes you can loose when you become a first time mum. I’m loving learning all things marketing, running the socials and helping with ideas to boost the business. I so look forward to what the future holds!’
